SocialFlight partners with IMC Club

Where2 Interactive has formed a partnership with IMC Club, hosting the IMC Club’s online event calendar.

In keeping with the spirit of aviation, the agreement was signed at 38,000 feet on a commercial flight to AOPA Summit earlier this month.

The IMC Club is a membership based non-profit organization focused on promoting instrument flying, proficiency and safety.

The partnership includes the integration of a customized version of the SocialFlightweb tool, embedded within IMC Club’s website at www.imcclubs.org. This new utility simplifies the entry, communication and management of all of the local IMC Club chapter meetings, seminars and other events, all from within the IMC Club portal.

The partnership coincides with the addition of online events to SocialFlight, adding to the more than 5,000 events in 2013 alone.

SocialFlight is a free mobile app and website which maps all of the general aviation events important to pilots such as fly-ins, airshows, pancake breakfasts, conventions, FAA safety feminars and more. In addition, SocialFlight provides users with a personalized Weekly Event Planner, reaching out to them each week via email, informing them about the upcoming events in their local area and motivating them to get out and fly.

“With over 77 chapters worldwide, the IMC Club International continues to grow rapidly. It is important that we support that growth with the best tools available. SocialFlight was the obvious choice to manage all of the events that support our members,” daid Radek Wyrzykowski, president of IMC Club International. “Not only will SocialFlight be a benefit for our members, but having all of the IMC Club events listed in SocialFlight will expand our reach, exposing the benefits of IMC Club membership to the entire SocialFlight community.”

SocialFlight users can search for events, add events, chat, upload photos, get email notifications, send event notices to their friends and even add events automatically to their Google or Outlook calendar.
