Cessna lands safely inside Honda showroom

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — AutoFair Honda of Plymouth went to great heights to show customers that the sky is the limit when they come into the car dealership’s showroom.

The dealership teamed with Pilgrim Aviation to fly a Cessna 150 to Plymouth, take it apart and reassemble the plane inside the showroom.

The plane will be on display for the month of May, before it is taken apart and put back together again to resume flying.

While people cannot test fly the plane like they test drive a car, anyone who test drives a new 2014 Honda will win a free flight on Pilgrim Aviation’s Redbird Flight Simulator.

According to Pilgrim Aviation, the flying experience on the simulator is as close to the real experience of flying a plane as possible since the Redbird Flight Simulator employs the latest technology available. Test pilots will be able to operate under the instruction of a Pilgrim Aviation expert and receive initial training prior to their time on the simulator.

AutoFair Honda manager Mike Antosca called on Pilgrim Aviation to engineer the installation of the Cessna 150 after they purchased the plane in Peoria, Illinois. The Cessna was flown 11 hours to Plymouth at 7,500 feet.

  1. More great aviation promotion!

  2. There is nothing wrong with the 150 & would rather have a 172. I wish I could afford either.

  3. As usual they probably have a window sticker on the 150 for $ 60,000 with a $ 1000 dealer rebate and $ 500 cash or zero % interest. Oh yes, don’t forget the “dealer hold back”. Hey, you can even get an AOA gauge – what a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Bill Hilsmeier says:

This is a great way to create interest in flying and airplanes. I hope other dealerships pick up on this idea.

  5. A lowly Cessna 150 finally gets some respect … for less than half the cost of a new Honda …
