Florida Tech launches online aviation management degree

TAMPA, Fla. — Florida Tech is introducing a Bachelor of Arts in Aviation Management offered 100% online.

Students earning this degree gain career-specific aviation and management knowledge delivered using University Alliance’s video-based e-learning environment.

FloridaTechFlorida Tech is one of only six universities designated a core partner in the FAA’s Center of Excellence Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility and Sustainability (PEGASAS). The 10-year partnership focuses on research projects that enhance the future of general aviation through safety, accessibility and sustainability, university officials explain.

Students who enroll in the BA in Aviation Management will gain an overall perspective on aviation safety, law, planning and operations. The program also includes a hands-on simulation course that tasks students with creating an airline business plan and running a simulated aviation business.

“The College of Aeronautics is excited to offer its bachelor’s degree in aviation management online, providing access to the best aviation minds regardless of where students live. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in non-flight aviation careers to benefit from our exceptional faculty and curriculum,” said Dr. Korhan Oyman, Dean of the College of Aeronautics.

The degree opens the door to many career possibilities, such as airline manager, director of aviation, general manager of airport operations, general aviation manager, TSA manager, airport manager, freight and cargo manager, airport security manager and others, according to university officials.

Classes begin in October.
