Cessna reports the successful maiden flight of the first production unit of the Citation CJ3+ from the company’s manufacturing facility adjacent to Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita. Mark Tuttle, production flight test pilot, said all systems performed as expected during the 73 minute flight.

Flight Design’s John Gilmore sent along these first views of the C4 proof of concept aircraft. He reports the first flight team is getting the systems, controls and instrumentation in place for the maiden flight. Additional work is being done on the other POC aircraft for occupant protective dynamic testing and for any additional static testing required.
OSHKOSH — Blackhawk Modifications of Waco, Texas, is adding a new engine upgrade option for Cessna 208A Caravan and 208B Grand Caravan aircraft.
Blackhawk is certifying the 867 horsepower PT6A-140 engine as a direct aftermarket replacement for the standard PT6A-114 (600 horsepower) or the PT6A-114A (675 horsepower) in those aircraft.
