LIVERMORE, Calif. — Five Rivers Aviation has broken ground on a new FBO and hangar complex for the Livermore Airport (KLVK).
The initial phase of the $5 million project includes 25,000 square feet of hangar space, as well as a 6,000-square-foot FBO complete with pilot and charter support amenities. [Read more…]
Wildlife can wreak havoc for airports and their staff. Birds and other animals can damage planes on the ground or cause accidents by flying into the engines or roaming on airport grounds. To increase awareness of these concerns and to improve safety for all, the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Division of Aviation will offer free training sessions for airport personnel. Now live at Albert Whitted Airport (SPG) in St. Petersburg, Florida, is EarthCam’s webcam. The new live streaming view lets you watch as general aviation airplanes prepare for takeoff.
Blogger Jolie Lucas encourages pilots to find those airports that offer a little something extra, like Pecos, Texas (KPEQ), which offers homemade burritos, chips and salsa or Beaumont, Kansas [O7S], where you can actually taxi into town.
