TITUSVILLE, Fla. — The nearly decade long dream of John Meekins is taking shape — literally. The Privateer, an amphibious turbine pusher, has been in development for more than seven years.
TITUSVILLE, Florida — Comp Air Aviation has a long history of building high-performance composite aircraft. Over the past 15 years the company has been busy building carbon composite aircraft with an eye toward FAA certification. So, when John Meekins, owner of Privateer Industries, set out to find a company to finish his dream project of building “the first new amphibian design in over 60 years” he recognized the experience of Comp Air Aviation…and a team was formed.
Comp Air recently kicked off a new promotion, offering pre-paid Visa cards worth up to $50,000 to purchasers of new aircraft.
Pilots who buy a Comp Air 12 between April 15 and Aug. 15 will receive a pre-paid Visa card for $50,000, which can be used for fuel – or as the new owner sees fit, company officials said. Those who purchase a Comp Air 9 or Comp Air 11 will receive a $40,000 card.
Those who purchase their planes during Sun ‘n Fun, slated for April 21-26 in Lakeland, Florida, will receive an additional $5,000 on the pre-paid Visa card.
