EAA declines FAA exemption for Young Eagles flights

OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has notified the FAA that it is declining a partial grant of exemption that would have allowed Young Eagles and Eagle Flights pilots to obtain reimbursement for fuel costs and logging of flight time.

COPPERSTATE scholarship winners travel to Oshkosh

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — In July, four high school students travelled to Oshkosh to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Advanced Air Academy 2013 — a trip funded by an Air Academy Scholarship from COPPERSTATE FLY-IN, Inc.

The 41st annual COPPERSTATE fly-in will take off Oct. 24-26 at the Casa Grande Municipal Airport in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Remembering Paul Poberezny

A fellow EAA chapter 1114 member once said, “Everyone in the EAA is greater than you’d think.” That certainly pertains to the organization’s founder. Among homebuilders, the name Poberezny has always evoked awe, and my respect for this gentle giant of a man grew steadily since first reading of him as a teenage student pilot in the early 1970s.

New attitude reflected at EAA annual meeting

OSHKOSH — An unusually large number of members attended the annual Experimental Aircraft Association meeting of the membership held Wednesday during AirVenture. EAA petitions federal court on ATC charges

The Experimental Aircraft Association(EAA) filed a petition July 3 with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago, asking the court to review and provide relief from payments demanded by the FAA in relation to air traffic control services at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
