The Flying Musicians Association (FMA) will provide music at the banquet celebrating the 111th anniversary of the Wright brothers first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, N.C., on Dec. 16, hosted by the First Flight Society.
Nobody who is seriously involved in aviation is unaware of the concern that student pilot starts are down and student pilot completions are down. At the same time, aviation has become a critical part of the global economy.
Ideas abound for how the industry might combat this trend and hopefully reverse it. You may have one yourself. That’s great. If even a small percentage of those ideas work, fantastic. Progress is progress.
Have you heard of the Flying Musicians Association?
The Flying Musicians Association has been selected to participate in Hewlett Packard’s Social Impact Initiative program, in which HP’s nearly 300,000 employees may donate directly to FMA, and HP will match these donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000 annually. HP is also allowing its employees to perform up to four hours per month of volunteer work for FMA on HP time.
The Flying Musicians Association (FMA) and the Lancaster Airport Authority, in cooperation with Fiorentino’s Italian Restaurant & Bar and the Civil Air Patrol-Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304, will hold a Fly-In MusicJam at Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania, Sept. 12-13.
The Flying Musicians Association will participate in the 110th Anniversary of Powered Flight celebration at Kitty Hawk, N.C., on Dec. 16 and 17.
