Pictures of the day: Putting rivalries aside

By General Aviation News Staff · October 15, 2015 ·

Three of the pilots in this weekend’s Red Bull Air Race took a tour of the Grand Canyon, with photographers capturing the spectacular site.

Putting rivalries aside, Hungary’s Peter Besenyei, Britain’s Paul Bonhomme and Australia’s Matt Hall took a flight outside Las Vegas — where the season’s last race will be held Oct. 17-18 — over the Grand Canyon.

After seven races since February, only Team Bonhomme and Matt Hall Racing still have a chance to clinch the World Championship crown at Sunday’s season finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bonhomme, already a two-time champion, leads the series a mere eight points ahead of Hall, who is eager to claim his first-ever title.

Great shots, I hope they were flying the approved corridors for that airspace.
