Distributor named for FlightMaster Aviation GPS software

By Janice Wood · January 5, 2009 ·

Midwest Sport Aviation, LLC has been named the exclusive worldwide distributor for FlightMaster Aviation GPS Software, which works on PalmOS based devices such as Palm TX, Treo phones, and Palm Centro phones.

As a result of this agreement, the AeroPalm brand the company has been marketing for the past two years will be discontinued, according to company officials, who say they will continue to support existing AeroPalm customers and provide a free migration for those wanting to switch to FlightMaster.

Features of the FlightMaster include: Terrain and conflict display; four configurable maps; four configurable timers; attitude approximator; waypoint search; vertical navigation; obstacle warnings; turn anticipation; and auto leg-advance.

A ready-to-fly aviation GPS based on a Palm TX can be purchased for under $450, according to company officials. The software is available for $149, including the initial aviation database from Jeppesen.
