Master the G1000

By Janice Wood · June 4, 2009 ·

Pilots don’t have to struggle to transition from “steam gauges” to glass cockpits thanks to Sporty’s latest release, the Garmin G1000 Checkout Course. This detailed course covers everything from basic button-pushing to emergencies.

g1000_checkoutThe video emphasizes scenario-based training and takes the viewer along on real-world flights. The G1000 Checkout includes two VFR flights, a local and a cross-country, as well as an IFR cross-country that focuses on cockpit resource management with the G1000. The course covers the integrated GFC-700 digital autopilot, use of XM weather, stormscope and new features such as electronic checklists, charts and synthetic vision technology (SVT). The viewer will also learn more about the aircraft electrical system and how to handle both abnormal events and emergencies.

Each G1000 Checkout Course comes with a flight training syllabus for students, a lesson guide for instructors, Garmin’s interactive G1000 PC simulator, and a G1000 cockpit poster.

Price: $89.95.
