Rudy Frasca inducted into Flight Instructor Hall of Fame

By Janice Wood · May 22, 2012 ·

The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) inducted Rudy Frasca into the Flight Instructor Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 19, with the induction taking place at the annual Sporty’s Fly-In on International Learn to Fly Day.

Rudy Frasca has spent a career working to improve flight training, building a successful business, Frasca International, that has simulators around the world in flight training operations.

NAFI’s founder, Jack Eggspuehler and Hal Shevers jointly presented the award to Rudy’s daughter, Peggy Prichard, who accepted the induction on behalf of Rudy. She said, “Rudy and the entire team at Frasca International are proud to accept this award. It is my pleasure to accept on his behalf.” She continued, “Rudy has recognized the valuable contribution that flight instructors give to the overall aviation community and is honored that his part in contributing to the aviation education has been recognized.”

“I have known Rudy for many years, and I am pleased to be able to host the presentation of this award during the Sporty’s Fly-In this year,” said Sporty’s founder/chairman, Hal Shevers. “Rudy is someone who I have worked with and known as a friend for a long time, he is a deserving recipient of this award.”

While Rudy was not able to attend the ceremony in person, the award will be presented to him in person at a later date at the offices of Frasca International.

The NAFI Flight Instructor Hall of Fame was created in 1997 to raise the stature and recognition of flight instructors and to promote greater appreciation of the role flight instructors have in training pilots at all levels. A committee of flight instructors from across the United States reviewed nominations submitted from around the world. The Hall of Fame considers nominations each year.
