Wicks offers Dynon Pocket Panel

By Janice Wood · August 22, 2012 ·

Now available from Wicks Aircraft Supply is the Dynon D1 Pocket Panel, a portable EFIS for experimental, light-sport and certified aircraft.

Dynon  introduced the portable true attitude indicator at this summer’s AirVenture. The D1 utilizes Dynon MEMS-based AHRS technology in a true artificial horizon instrument; the D1 can display accurate pitch and roll, even if it’s turned on in flight, and it maintains the horizon accurately during extended turns, company officials said. The AHRS sensors also drive a turn rate indicator and slip/skid ball.

At only 3½” wide, 3¼” high, and 1” thick, the D1 packs a lithium-ion battery that lasts four hours on a charge, and the unit comes with two portable mounting options, a RAM suction cup mount and a 3?” portable “pinch” mount.

The D1 has an internal GPS receiver and displays GPS ground speed, altitude, vertical speed, and ground track. Accessories include an AC power adapter, a DC vehicle power adaptor, internal Li-Ion battery, external GPS antenna, and the mounts.

The Wicks part number is 101386-000, and the unit is priced at $1,425.
