Redbird flight training conference draws GA heavyweights

By Janice Wood · September 24, 2012 ·

SAN MARCOS, Texas — The Second Annual MIGRATION Flight-Training Conference will feature industry leaders Craig Fuller, president, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Pete Bunce, CEO, General Aviation Manufacturers Association, and Jack Pelton, retired Cessna CEO, discussing the future of the flight training industry.

The conference will be held Oct. 22-24 at Redbird Skyport in San Marcos, Texas to gather flight-training professionals interested in shaping the future of flight training. Attendees will share the latest insights on both techniques and flight-training technologies, including a report from Redbird Skyport on its first year of using simulators, rather than real aircraft, as the core for Part 141 flight training.

Breakout groups on the second day will grapple with the real-world challenges facing the industry and how technology could fit into the solutions.

The MIGRATION conference is a collaborative effort between Redbird Flight Simulations, Cessna, AOPA, GAMA, King Schools, Jeppeson, SAFE, and Continental Motors.

Interested flight training organizations and industry professionals can register for MIGRATION at RedbirdSkyport.com

Redbird Skyport is a multi-purpose general aviation services center at San Marcos Municipal Airport (HYI) that functions as a research and development laboratory. Located between Austin and San Antonio, Redbird Skyport has a flight school and full-service FBO known for world-class service and support.
