While the general aviation community is anxious to help in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, officials have asked them to wait to keep airspace clear for emergency response and search and rescue. According to a report at AOPA.org, New York area airports were pumped dry, but service remained limited as of Nov. 1 in the wake of the devastating storm that left millions without power, caused widespread flooding and fires, and left 93 people dead in the U.S. and Canada.
