This week on IMC Radio’s “Plane Talk” hosts Derek Lagasse, Jon King Roberts, and Dave Bashy will interview Jason Blair, who just resigned as executive director of the National Association Of Flight Instructors.
Leaving NAFI was a difficult decision, Jason Blair said in a prepared statement, “because I’ve invested my heart and soul in its mission, but resigning offers the best possible future for the organization and myself. I fully support the mission of NAFI and hope the association and its members can find a way to continue the growth of the association and eventually return to a point where the position of an executive director is financially sustainable.”
A statement released from NAFI officials says, “We greatly appreciate Jason’s service on behalf of NAFI and its members. (…) NAFI again wishes to thank Jason for his tireless service and dedication to both the association and to the aviation community as a whole.” The board plans to name an interim administrator and is putting together a search committee to begin the process of finding a new executive director.
In an IMC Radio Exclusive “Plane Talk” hosts will talk to Jason for his first public interview following his resignation. In the aftermath of significant restructuring, and economic downturn at NAFI and across general aviation “Plane Talk” will probe deeper into the future of GA. Jason will bring his perspective on the current state of aviation.
During the show listeners will be able to ask Jason questions via Twitter at @theplaneguys.
“Plane Talk” the world’s only online Radio Show dedicated exclusively to GA is broadcast live every Wednesday, 1900 Zulu. You can listen to the interview live Jan. 9 at IMCClubs.org or later by podcast on the iTunes music store.
