Fourth annual Grass Strip Foundation Fly-In set

By General Aviation News Staff · September 17, 2013 ·

The fourth annual fly-in for the Grass Strip Foundation at the Berg Park Aerodrome (9GA2) in Midway, Georgia, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19. The force behind the fly-in, Steve Berg, said he hopes to attract between 300 and 500 people to this year’s event.

The Open House begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m.

The Grass Strip Foundation is an educational and preservation foundation dedicated to vintage, experimental and general aviation aircraft and their preservation, “educating the uninformed about the joys, practicalities and necessities of aircraft in our modern society.” Donations are welcome.

Local artisans and craftsmen are invited and are welcome. Please RSVP if you plan to set up a booth space. There is no charge to set up a booth.

For information call Steve Berg 912-884-8666 or 912-572-8688. Check out Deb McFarland’s Short Final column which chronicles her visit with Steve Berg.

This should prove to be an event not to miss. I know Steve puts a lot of himself into this event and I wish him every success on its continued growth.
