AUGUSTA, Kan. — GlobalParts.aero, a provider of aftermarket parts and services, will survey its customers and prospective customers during the upcoming National Business Aviation Association convention in Las Vegas, promising to donate $1 for every survey completed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
“We have ordered pink shirts to wear at NBAA as a show of support for our Atlanta senior sales rep’s wife who survived breast cancer and had a recent scare. (She is still in remission thankfully). He suggested we combine the pink shirts, our presence at NBAA and the fund raising opportunity,” said Malissa Nesmith, Chief Operating Officer of GlobalParts.aero.
“Our goal, of course, is to take advantage of the outstanding opportunity NBAA provides for us to interact with a large number of people in a short period of time,” she continued. “Obviously, we want to communicate our company’s attributes and find out what our customers and prospective customers want, but it’s also a terrific platform for addressing issues that are important to a lot of people. Breast cancer kills nearly half a million people a year — but a significant number of them might be saved by breakthroughs in research that might be just around the corner. We decided why not utilize this forum as a way to generate some additional research funding?”
Based on last year’s NBAA Convention attendance, company officials calculate that they could make a gift in excess of $20,000 if attendees are willing to take a couple of extra minutes to fill out the survey.
“We hope as many of them who can will do just that,” she said.
In addition, GlobalParts.aero, which supplies parts for a wide variety of airframes including Beechcraft, Bombardier, Cessna, Embraer, Falcon, and Gulfstream, will enter each survey participant’s name into a drawing to win a scale model of their favorite business aircraft.
“We won’t discourage participants from making their own donation to cancer research, either,” Nesmith added.
This year’s NBAA convention is slated for Oct. 22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
