A source close to Sen. Jim Inhofe has confirmed that his son, Dr. Perry Inhofe, was on board a plane that crashed near Owasso, Okla., on Sunday, according to KOCO.com. Inhofe, an orthopedic surgeon in Tulsa, was a long-time pilot and CFI. At this year’s AirVenture, his son, and student, flew the family’s Grumman to the big show for the first time, continuing a family tradition. Our condolences to the Inhofe family.

I’m so sad to hear this. Sen. Inhofe has been a very good friend to General Aviation and an avid pilot. It’s disturbing to know this has happened to someone who loves aviation the way he does. My sincere prayers and thoughts for his family.
Sad news for the family and everyone in Oklahoma. The Inhofe’s are a well respected family and have done so much for their community, aviation, Oklahoma, and the country.
How terrible. The Inhofe’s are well known visitors to Oshkosh. Prayers go out.
