Planning underway for Copperstate Fly-In

By General Aviation News Staff · August 22, 2014 ·

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — Preparations have begun for the 42nd annual COPPERSTATE Fly-In & Aviation Expo scheduled Oct. 23-25 at the Casa Grande Municipal Airport (KCGZ).

“This year, we’re expanding our youth aviation programs,” says COPPERSTATE President Stephen Bass. “We’re also expecting more avionics vendors and flight schools to be on hand.”

Both endeavors speak to the theme for this year’s fly-in: “Keeping the Dream Alive.”

Last year, more than 500 aircraft and 6,100 attendees from 12 countries and 37 U.S. states converged on the fly-in — an attendance figure that topped the 2012 number by more than 600. Additionally, 929 people attended COPPERSTATE’s forums — the highest attendance level in five years.

Visit the COPPERSTATE website for more information on the 2013 scholarship winners, the 2013 COPPERSTATE Fly-In Showplane Winners, and to view a four-part documentary on the COPPERSTATE Fly-in.

While you’re there, be sure to sign up to receive the brand-new COPPERSTATE Fly-In & Aviation Expo eNewsletter.
