LIVERMORE, Calif. — Five Rivers Aviation has broken ground on a new FBO and hangar complex for the Livermore Airport (KLVK).
The initial phase of the $5 million project includes 25,000 square feet of hangar space, as well as a 6,000-square-foot FBO complete with pilot and charter support amenities.
When complete, Five Rivers Aviation, partnering with EPIC Aviation, will also assume responsibility for the fuel concession from the city of Livermore. The city has been searching to privatize the FBO function for some years, company officials note.
“It’s nice when you can design and build an FBO from the ground up. We’re not limited by a 50-year-old building that needs renovation, we’re building exactly the right facility,” said Pete Sandhu, owner and president of Five Rivers Aviation.
Five Rivers Aviation will complement the new terminal building and full service restaurant opening next door and another hangar complex being built on the field.
Its about time LVK was brought into the 21st century. Maybe its an acknowledgment that the airport is there to stay. Congrats to all involved.
