Lifesaver attitude indicator has built-in battery backup

By General Aviation News Staff · December 24, 2004 ·

Six original equipment manufacturers, including Adam, Diamond, Lancair, Piper, Mooney and Raytheon, now offer the Lifesaver from Mid-Continent Instruments, the only attitude indicator with a built-in battery backup.

The Lifesaver provides up to one hour of emergency attitude reference, even if every other system in an aircraft’s avionics panel fails. Antireflective glass and internal emergency lighting enhance visibility and reduce pilot fatigue.

The Lifesaver is also available to the aftermarket. Retrofit is minimal with installation as simple as hooking up one standard four-pin connector. Price: $4,450. For more information: LifesaverGyro.com.
