Ground school in a weekend

By General Aviation News Staff · February 25, 2005 ·

Want to learn to fly but don’t have the time to attend a 10-week ground school session? Too busy to sit for hours in front of a computer with an online course? You can complete the Private Pilot Knowledge Test in a single weekend with a weekend ground school course from Am I High Aviation in Stevens Point, Wis. The course is taught by CFIs Wanda Zuege and John Thompson, who have more than 50 years of flying experience between them.

This weekend course evolved over the years as Zuege and Thompson conducted 10-week ground school courses every Wednesday evening at the Stevens Point Airport. “Teaching the same subject for years allowed us to constantly improve the teaching materials and style to enhance the learning experience for a variety of student pilots, age 12 – 72,” the CFIs say. “Aware that many prospective pilots didn’t have 10 weeks to devote to studying for the FAA test, we developed this new program using our latest technically enhanced materials. The course provides a thorough review of the 700 FAA questions (60 of which are randomly selected for the actual Private Pilot Test) — all this in one weekend.”

Cost is $250 and includes all course materials. When registering, include name of home airport and the company will coordinate a ground school in your area.
