New FAA seaplane handbook available

By General Aviation News Staff · February 25, 2005 ·

Seaplane pilots can now download a new training handbook from the FAA.

The new Seaplane, Skiplane, and Float/Ski-Equipped Helicopter Operations Handbook is packed with information covering the basic skills necessary for flying seaplanes, skiplanes and float or ski-equipped helicopters. It is aimed at pilots who already have their private certificates, but it also is beneficial for seaplane pilots who wish to improve their proficiency.

Broken into four downloads, the entire handbook is 82 pages.

To download, go to Av-Info.FAA.gov. Click on downloads, then type seaplane in the search box. You also can buy printed copies of the handbook from ASA (ASA2Fly.com) for $16.95.
