Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft opens sales and builder center in Tennessee

By General Aviation News Staff · March 11, 2005 ·

Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft, LLC., the nation’s largest supplier of Australian-produced Jabiru aircraft and engines, has opened a new sales and builder center in Shelbyville, Tenn.

The 10,000-square-foot facility, at the north end of Bomar Field (SYI), includes classroom areas, parts storage, kit building areas and offices.

“This new building provides a fantastic place for our customers to build their own Jabiru aircraft,” said Pete Krotje, manager. “With our instruction and organization, a builder can complete his plane in as little as three weeks.”

Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft will begin manufacturing the Jabiru J170 and Jabiru J250 Special Light Sport Aircraft at Shelbyville as soon as the FAA approves the applicable ASTM consensus standards to issue a LSA Airworthiness Certificate.
