Texas-sized celebration set for May

By General Aviation News Staff · April 7, 2005 ·

The Southwest Regional EAA Fly-In, known as the Texas Fly-In, is more than just an air show. Organizers are billing it as a “Texas-sized celebration of an American privilege: The freedom to build your very own airplane.”

A wide variety of airplanes will be on display — and flying — during the event, slated for May 13-15 at Hondo Municipal Airport (HDO). Look for warbirds, homebuilts, military aircraft, restorations and replicas.

The show also will have a large number of exhibitors, showcasing everything from complete aircraft engines to parts, instrument panels, tools, components, training materials, clothing and useful flight gadgets of every kind.

There also will be a full schedule of forums, including presentations by experts on many aspects of home airplane building, safe flying and the latest developments in aviation.
