A new propeller for Skyvans

By General Aviation News Staff · April 8, 2005 ·

MT-Propeller has received an STC for use of its five-blade, composite propeller on Short Brothers SC7 Skyvans. It is the first time that one of MT’s propellers has been certified in Europe for a turboprop aircraft.

The propellers, in modern Scimitar design, are 92.5 in. in diameter and “offer, in comparison to standard aluminum propellers, an increased climb rate,” company officials claim. They also reduce the noise level by several dBa. Cabin noise is reduced by almost 10 dBa, MT says.
