L-3 Avioincs selected for Citation CJ1+ and CJ2+

By General Aviation News Staff · July 8, 2005 ·

Cessna Aircraft Co. has chosen L-3 Avionics Systems’ Electronic Standby Instrument System (ESIS) Model GH-3000 as standard equipment aboard the Citation CJ1+ and CJ2+ models. The L-3 system also is available on the CJ3, Bravo, Encore, XLS and Sovereign.

Designed to replace conventional electro-mechanical standby attitude, airspeed and altitude instruments, the L-3 Electronic Standby System is capable of providing all three functions, plus heading, slip/skid, navigation data and vertical speed, in a single 3-inch ATI, flat panel display.

The L-3 GH-3000 ESIS has an Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) that performs well in direct sunlight as well as dark cockpit environments. The multi-purpose display boasts clear off-axis viewing and anti-aliasing of graphics for crisp readouts at any attitude. The system can be customized to visually match an aircraft’s primary flight display system, providing an additional measure of safety when transitioning from primary to standby instrumentation. Extensive digital interface capabilities include the display of VOR, ILS, DME, TACAN, Heading and information.
