Aircraft Spruce offers full line of Halon fire extinguishers

By General Aviation News Staff · July 22, 2005 ·

Aircraft Spruce & Specialty now carries the full line of H3R Halon and Halotron 1 fire extinguishers for use in aircraft cockpits, cargo areas and on the ground while servicing aircraft.

Available in red or chrome finish, the H3R extinguishers come in a range of sizes starting with 14 ounces of agent for pilot bags to 150-pound wheeled units for flight line operations.

Halon remains the gold standard in extinguishing agents. The heat seeking, compressed, liquefied gas quickly puts out hard-to-reach fires. The gas is colorless, odorless and will not stain or transmit electrostatic shocks to avionics. It will not affect a pilot’s vision and can be used on class A, B or C fires. The extinguishers, which also meet EPA standards for being environment-friendly, have shelf lives up to 12 years and do not require annual maintenance or inspection.
