Do we really need to save airports?

By General Aviation News Staff · August 5, 2005 ·

I am an airport manager of a small airport in northern Oklahoma (O53), and I have to disagree that we need more airports (Join the campaign to save our airports, July 8 issue). It has been my observation in this part of the country that we don’t have enough airplanes and general aviation activities to support the number of airports that we currently have. Over the last few years there have been less and less people flying, fewer planes and many vacant hangars. So from my point of view, I don’t see a need for more airports when we have so many starving airports right now.
