New Titan engine parts available from ECi

By General Aviation News Staff · August 5, 2005 ·

Engine Components Inc. has added new parts to its Titan product line. The parts include FAA-PMA replacement parts for Lycoming and Continental engines.

ECi has received a PMA to manufacture a connecting rod, which can be used as a direct replacement for the Lycoming 320 series engines. ECi also has started producing an oil transfer collar for front-alternator 520 and 550 series engines, as well as a stainless steel rocker cover for parallel-head, Lycoming-style engines.

This new part enhances the metallurgical properties and provides a high-luster physical appearance, both helping to reduce wear and cost to the customer, according to ECi officials.

To help give new life to TCM crankshafts, ECi is introducing undersized bearings. Accompanying these new bearings is an oil transfer collar, also undersized. ECi bearings have a tri- metal composition: steel backing, leaded-copper interlayer and a leaded-tin overlay, which helps to reduce wear and capture abrasive debris and foreign material that try to embed into the surface.
