When Your Aircraft Source decided to launch a refurbishment program using the MS-760 Paris Jet, they decided that the appropriate upgrade for the panel would be a Chelton EFIS. Paris Jet production, located at Calhoun Airport near Atlanta, has remanufactured 20 copies of the rugged, aerobatic, four-place light twin. Their first issue was introduced at Sun ‘n Fun this year.
Chelton’s Electronic Flight Information System, or EFIS, includes one to four display units. The Primary Flight Display features 3-D perspective terrain modeling anywhere in the world, with real time GPS/WAAS positioning, and Highway-In-The-Sky (HITS) predictive flight director guidance from takeoff to touchdown. The integral master caution voice warning system provides a wide range of alarm and alert information that appears on the screen if any undesirable conditions arise during the flight. A moving map display on the secondary display screen provides situational awareness with integration of navigation elements, air data, terrain and traffic simultaneously on a single screen.
