Avidyne captures title as market leader in glass cockpits

Avidyne Corp. has taken the lead in the glass cockpit market for GA.

Based on aircraft shipment data from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association from the first quarter of 2003 through the first quarter of 2005, Avidyne tops the list of integrated flight display suppliers for new GA aircraft with 37.3%. In second is Rockwell Collins at 22.2%, followed by Garmin at 20.6% and Honeywell at 19.9%. The count is based on new aircraft shipments reported by manufacturers.

Avidyne customers include Cirrus, New Piper, Columbia, Symphony Aircraft, Adam Aircraft and Aviation Technology Group, which is manufacturing the Javelin Jet.
