A holiday gift idea

By General Aviation News Staff · December 2, 2005 ·

I renewed my subscription to GANews on Oct. 20, 2005. One of my hangar flying cronies told me if I failed to do that, the airport wouldn’t let me read their free copy anymore! I just couldn’t take that chance because someone usually steals the free copy from the pilots’ lounge anyway. (The thief normally brings it back when the new issue arrives, but by that time, well, you know the saying, “…old aviation news is not necessarily good flying news” or something like that.) I convinced myself that I should spring for another year’s worth of the best flying info on the market.

What do you think I got in the mail today? You guessed it! A renewal notice! This was not one of those threatening pieces of correspondence that demands your first child by return mail or anything like that. This was an offer that beats anything I ever saw dangled in the cockpit of a prospective LSA buyer! “Buy 1-Take 2- Add 5!” Are you kidding me? I haven’t had an offer that good since my wife bartered a deal with me that sent my mother-in-law to a nursing home and my wife to Florida! The only problem is that I now have a little dilemma. Should I cancel my paid one-year renewal subscription and take advantage of this new two year offer plus five additional gift subscriptions to my aviation friends who would not hesitate to rip off my copy if I wasn’t looking? That’s what I would really like to do. Can you help me?
