Air Tractor sets up college assistance fund

By General Aviation News Staff · February 2, 2006 ·

The sale of Air Tractor label replacement batteries will now help fund college education for children of pilots who lost their lives in aerial application accidents involving Air Tractor aircraft.

Located in Olney, Texas, Air Tractor and its dealers created the Student Outreach and Assistance Resource (SOAR) Fund to help students who might not otherwise attain their goals without tuition assistance.

“This is a way families and businesses within the agricultural aviation community can help each other. Batteries are an ordinary item that everyone uses, so we believe they will be a steady, renewable source of income for the SOAR Fund,” says Kristin Edwards of Air Tractor. The fund already has a $24,000 balance, she added.
