Cirrus deliveries up in 2005

By General Aviation News Staff · February 17, 2006 ·

Cirrus Design Corp. shipped 600 planes in 2005, a 9.2% increase over 2004. And that trend should continue, as the company registered 701 new orders last year. On the manufacturing side, Cirrus reached a production milestone by manufacturing its 2,000th airplane in 2005, just six years after production began.

According to 2005 data from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, Cirrus remains the market category leader in high-performance, single-engine piston, four-place airplanes, with the SR22 winning the title as the world’s best selling airplane in 2005. The company attributes much of the growth to its maturing international sales distribution network and its established domestic direct sales team.
