Take your plane for a spin — in the hangar

By General Aviation News Staff · February 17, 2006 ·

Carousel Condos are hangar designs that incorporate a flexible carousel aircraft handling system and indoor automobile parking on the lower level, with four individual suites on the upper level that can be customized to meet the most discriminating tastes.

Flexibility in design allows for a multitude of aircraft storage options on the rotating platform. The concept provides safe, one-person operation of the entire aircraft manipulation system and hangar door. The computer-controlled aircraft positioning system facilitates ease of aircraft loading and eliminates multiple aircraft movements that cause hangar rash. Special clearances are designed into the structure to allow for any size aircraft cabin height, tail height, wingspan and length. The carousel and hangar building design can be scaled up or down to facilitate weight and dimensions of any size aircraft. The hangar provides efficient multiple aircraft storage in the smallest area possible and requires only one hangar door and one approach apron to maintain.

Four suites on the upper level provide ample area to create a floor plan unique to individual needs; i.e. storage area, workshop, pilots’ lounge, weather station, passenger lounge, or a personalized living area. Each suite has separate metered utilities, 150A electrical service, natural gas, water and sewer, water heater, a complete HVAC system, is full kitchen capable, and has full bath facilities with laundry connections installed.
