Expansion continues at Kissimmee Gateway Airport

By General Aviation News Staff · March 24, 2006 ·

Florida’s Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) is soaring to new heights with recent developments.

Ranger Aviation, an FBO at ISM, is in the process of building a 60,000-square-foot executive terminal. This facility will house corporate offices, tenants, conference rooms, pilot facilities and a full-service restaurant.

Meanwhile, another FBO, Marathon Flight Services, is nearing completion of a 16,000-square-foot aircraft storage hangar. Once complete, it will be the second largest hangar at the airport.

Warbird Adventures is building a 10,000-square-foot hangar with office space that will be the first project in the ISM Business Airpark. Once the airpark is complete, there will be parcels available for eight aviation businesses.

The airport is installing state-of-the-art Precision Approach Path Indicator lights on all four runways. Additionally, the much anticipated arrival of the Precision Instrument Landing System (ILS) is set for May. The airport is in the final stages of clearing trees for that project.
