Copperstate slides dates to Oct. 26-29

By General Aviation News Staff · May 5, 2006 ·

In an effort to provide relief from the sweltering desert heat, organizers of the 34th annual Copperstate Regional EAA Fly-In at Casa Grande Municipal Airport in Arizona, have moved the event back from Oct. 12-15 to Oct. 26-29. National Weather Service statistics show that the shift should reduce the average high temperature from 92° to 80°, organizers say.

In another major change, Copperstate will not hold daily aerobatic air shows, which in the past have closed the airport for hours at a time and affected flight schedules of attendees. Instead, every fly-in participant will have a chance to fly in front of the crowd, as builders, restorers, manufacturers and pilots are invited to show off their creations during dedicated airtime segments.
