First Diamond Brilliance Flight Center opens

By General Aviation News Staff · July 7, 2006 ·

Diamond Aircraft has opened its first Diamond Brilliance Flight Center in Naples, Fla., operated by Europe-American Aviation.

Diamond Brilliance Flight Center operators are hand-picked by Diamond Aircraft to provide flight training and aircraft rental services. The centers use Diamond aircraft and flight training devices exclusively.

The Europe-American Diamond Brilliance Flight Center’s fleet will consist of two DA20-C1 aircraft, seven Garmin G1000-equipped DA40 Diamond Stars, and one turbo-diesel powered DA42 Twin Star. Supplementing the new aircraft is a Diamond-manufactured DA42 specific Level 5 Flight Training Device. This simulator is the first installation of its kind in the USA.

The center will use Jeppesen training materials. “We are excited to offer state-of-the-art training from ‘zero’ time to commercial/instrument rating, based on the Jeppesen training materials,” said Carsten Strum, president and owner of Europe-American Aviation.

Europe-American Aviation’s affiliated company, PrimePlanes Aircraft Services, is a Diamond Authorized Service Center and will maintain the fleet.

In other news, the Diamond D-JET will make its public debut at AirVenture in Oshkosh later this month.

It will be the first public viewing of the D-JET after it is shown to Diamond owners at DiamondFest, an annual owner’s fly-in, slated for July 15-16.

The D-JET is a five-place personal jet, powered by the FADEC controlled Williams FJ33 turbine and equipped with a Garmin all glass flight deck and autopilot.
