TravelScoot: An easier way to get around

By General Aviation News Staff · July 21, 2006 ·

Does a walking problem prevent you from flying into places where ground transportation is not available? Until now electric mobility scooters were far too heavy and way too bulky to fit in small airplanes. Hardy Huber, builder of one of the first Wheeler Express composite fourseaters, has changed that. His TravelScoot is the world’s lightest and most compact folding mobility scooter, he says, adding it beats his nearest competition by 50% in weight and space. Total weight, with the battery, is 49 pounds. One battery charge is good for eight miles.

Made of aircraft grade aluminum, the scooter can be loaded into small planes through the luggage door.
