Avionics Training Unlimited lanches online training center

By General Aviation News Staff · August 4, 2006 ·

Pilots now have access to on-demand, interactive GPS training courses through Avionics Training Unlimited’s new online training center.

“We offer a series of free and low-priced courses on various topics, most of which can be completed in an hour or less,” says Judy Cadmus, president. “Instead of a rehash of the basics, our courses focus on intermediate and advanced topics for both VFR and IFR pilots.”

Courses such as “IFR Departure Procedures with the Garmin 430/530” and “Missed Approach Procedures with the Garmin 430/530 — What Your Instructor Never Told You” will challenge the experienced pilot, while the free “Garmin GNS480 Course-To Function” and “Garmin GDL69 Graphical Metar Shortcut” courses are geared toward all experience levels. The courses are interactive, with quizzes and challenge questions included throughout each course. New courses are available each month.

Courses are PC compatible; Mac versions will be available later, company officials say.
