By the numbers

By General Aviation News Staff · August 4, 2006 ·

Tribute dinner shines light on GA’s humanitarian efforts, by Charles Spence in the June 9 issue, is a good article. I call U.S. senators and representatives requesting support for pending legislation of interest to me.

Providing legal protection for Angel Flight pilots is needed. H.R. 1871, Volunteer Pilots Protection Act, was reportedly approved by the House. However, even though the article mentions that pilots have been urged to contact their U.S. senators requesting support for that act, there was no mention of the identification number for the Senate bill. That number should have been provided. What is the number of the Senate Bill companion to House Bill H.R. 1872?

Harry Bladow

Independence, Ore.

Editor’s Note: The bill number in the Senate is S.929. The bill has been read twice by the Senate and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. For more information on the bill, go to Thomas.loc.gov and type either volunteer pilots or the bill number in the search box.
