Augusta Aviation, Flying Tigers take delivery of ELITE RC-1 Advanced ATD

By General Aviation News Staff · August 18, 2006 ·

ELITE Simulation Solutions has delivered its RC-1 Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) to Augusta Aviation, Inc. in Augusta, Ga.

The ELITE RC-1 is a full-featured Advanced Aviation Training Device with life-size, high-resolution instruments, cockpit enclosure, and external visual system with a large-screen display as standard equipment. The RC-1 includes simple, complex, and twin-engine aircraft modules with associated three and six-lever throttle quadrants. In addition, by connecting any handheld GPS and/or EFB, the RC-1 can serve as a training platform for some of today’s most advanced navigation systems. Optional items available for the RC-1 include the Garmin GNS 430 or 530 GPS and vernier-style power quadrants.

Augusta Aviation will use the RC-1 for student training, as well as to augment training in the company’s charter department.

Elite also has delivered an RC-1 to Flying Tigers Flight School in Houston. “As fuel costs continue to soar, the RC-1 will be a valuable asset for our flight school in assisting our students with a realistic and cost-effective way to supplement their training,” said Spencer Redburn, CFI and flight school manager.
