Piper Aircraft Inc is the new name of The New Piper Aircraft Inc

By General Aviation News Staff · August 18, 2006 ·

The New Piper Aircraft, Inc. has changed its name to Piper Aircraft, Inc. The name change is part of a new campaign that evokes the history and heritage of Piper, which celebrates its 70th anniversary next year, company officials said. The New Piper Aircraft was born in 1995 when a nucleus of employees joined with outside investors to take over the assets of the Piper Aircraft Corp. and relaunch the company. The Vero Beach, Fla.-based company now employs 1,000 people and offers a line of aircraft from trainers to the turboprop Meridian.
