How about this? “Buy a Plane, Get a Car”

By Janice Wood · September 8, 2006 ·

Comp Air Inc. announced Aug. 28 that it would give away new Chevy Aveos to buyers of selected models of its airplanes. The first taker called three days later, according to Ron Lueck, owner of the Merritt Island, Fla.-based company.

“He called from Miami and said he wanted to be the first,” Lueck said, “and he is.

The offer is for a limited time and applies only to seven of Comp Air’s many kit models, said Bill Fedorko, Comp Air’s marketing and media relations man.

“It’s simple. You buy one of the selected aircraft listed on our website and we give you a brand new Chevy Aveo,” he explained. “Are we going crazy? We don’t think so.

“We just want to help people get started building new Comp Air aircraft.” Lueck explained what Fedorko meant by help. “We know it’s sometimes inconvenient to come down to Merritt Island to build your new aircraft, so we will try to make it a little easier to get around when you are here. Then, when you are done building your aircraft – with the help of our builders assist program – you take the aircraft and the new car home with you.”

“Even if you choose to build the aircraft in your own garage at home, you can still take advantage of our offer,” Fedorko added. “Just fly on down to Merritt Island Airport and drive your new car home. We will arrange to have your kit shipped.”Comp Air, one of the oldest kit manufacturers in the United States, offers a broad range of composite, kit-built airplanes from two to 11 seats and powered by piston, turboprop and turbojet engines from 65 to 1880 hp. Cruise speeds range from 75 to 400 mph.
