Gross weight increases now available for some Cessna 172 owners

Air Plains of Wellington, Kan., announces a gross weight increase of 200 pounds on Cessna 172D through 172I models. Air Plains has added this increase to its GWI STC SA2196CE. The increase is available for owners who have a 180 hp engine on their 1963 through 1968 models.

Adding gross weight allows another person or additional luggage, Air Plains officials note.
