Elliott Aviation uses newtechnology to help owners”envision” new interiors

By General Aviation News Staff · November 17, 2006 ·

Elliott Aviation now offers a new technology—EnVision —that allows aircraft owners to “see” the completed interior of their aircraft before refurbishments or completions begin, saving time as well as money.

Elliott Aviation has partnered with Infusion Design, a design firm in Bonner Springs, Kan., to adapt existing high-tech computer modeling capabilities to help customers visualize their aircraft’s finished interior and exterior.

Elliott Aviation is one of the first aftermarket facilities to offer this technology, which has been available to OEMs, said Ruben Segura-Coto, engineering department manager for Elliott Aviation.

Elliott Aviation’s design consultants use custom software to build floor plans, exteriors and 3-D interior vignettes for five basic airframes: Hawker 700/800/1000; Citation 650 (3, 6 and 7); Cessna 550 and 560; King Air 200/300/350; Beechjet 400A; and the Falcon 10. Customers can choose from a library of thousands of options for texture, patterns, colors, veneers, plating, fabrics, leathers and carpet to quickly view the interior of their aircraft, including seating configurations and finishes, headliners, carpet and cabinetry.

At the end of the selection process, the customer receives high-resolution, color proofs of what the completed aircraft will look like, including diagrams of the floor plan and a traditional color board with color samples and material swatches. They also receive an exterior illustration depicting the aircraft’s paint scheme if they are having the aircraft painted.
