Your article on “Old School Flying” in the Oct. 20 issue was great! You know my affinity for the classic airplanes so this article really hit home. I went with a friend to pick up a new Legend Cub and fly it home a few months ago and it was a fun trip, flying low and getting a close up look at the countryside between Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Atlanta. It may be a new airplane, but it still flies like a Cub!
I purchased a 1946 Cub in August that is fully restored down to the original Cub instruments. It looks like a brand new J-3 but has a C-90 under the hood. It’s a great flyer and a lot of fun in the afternoon when I put down the paint brushes and take her up for 30 minutes or so just to relax before supper.
Keep up the good work.
