Oxford Aviation breaks ground

By General Aviation News Staff · December 1, 2006 ·

Oxford Aviation recently broke ground on its new Sanford Jet Division at the Sanford Regional Airport in Sanford, Maine. The 90,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art center will cater to corporate and private business jets and will make the company’s combined refurbishing facilities 135,000 square feet, one of the largest independently owned operations of its kind in the U.S.

The company will offer paint, interiors, cabinetry, maintenance and avionics services in Sanford, Maine. Sanford’s 5,000 and 6,000 foot runways will allow the company to service planes up to a Gulfstream V and Global Express in its new seven-bay hangar facility. Small and medium size aircraft and helicopters will continue to be serviced at the company’s existing Oxford, Maine, location.

Oxford Aviation expects to employ 200 people at its new facility, with plans for future expansions centering around new plane completions and customization also in the works.
